MB Convictions - Engaging in Community Nov 20-22, 2025
If being a Christian is about personally confessing Jesus as Lord, what does it mean to be a community of disciples living the mission of the church in the world? Why do Mennonite Brethren emphasize community so strongly? This course will focus on the key elements of visible discipleship as articulated in the Confession of Faith, drawing upon the principle of letting biblical conceptual language about discipleship shape the theological reflection of the believing community in discerning ethical and missional outcomes.
Exposition of Deuteronomy Feb 5-7, 2026
How can legal and ritual stipulations established 3,000 years ago still have relevance for Jesus-followers today? The book of Deuteronomy is a story of covenant renewal for the people of God as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. In this study of Deuteronomy, emphasis will be placed on understanding how covenant law and Israel’s story intersect to illuminate God’s character, plans, and purposes for his people. The overarching goal will be to understand how the message of Deuteronomy spoke to its original audience and then see how it continues to impact the church today.
