Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Dyck!
MB Seminary wishes to congratulate Andrew Dyck, Assistant Professor of Ministry Studies, for the successful defense of his Ph.D. dissertation: “Praying Like the Catholics? Enriching Canadian Mennonite Brethren Spirituality through Spiritual Direction, Lectio Divina, and the Taizé Community.” His study was completed through the International Baptist Theological Study Centre at the Free University of Amsterdam, where the defense was held on September 5. His wife Martha, their children, and granddaughter were present for the occasion.
Andrew remarked, “I’ve realized anew this week that I pursued this degree not simply for my own satisfaction, or even to get a job, but also to serve the church. I’m therefore delighted that the topic of my research has widespread implications for churches of many traditions, including Mennonite Brethren.” We thank God for providing the strength to complete this arduous task and look forward to all the ways God will use Dr. Dyck as he continues to train men and women to be faithful ministers of the Gospel of Christ.
