MB Story
This course provides an orientation to the historical experience, denominational identity, and contemporary priorities and challenges of the Mennonite Brethren Church. The course begins with an historical exploration of the origins and development of the sixteenth-century Anabaptist movement, and the subsequent development of the Mennonite Church within the wider context of Protestantism in Europe. Special attention is then given to the origin and
growth of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Russia, North America, and its emergence as a global movement during the twentieth century. The historical survey will serve as the backdrop against which to interpret cultural, theological, and sociological forces and factors that shaped Mennonite Brethren faith and life, theology, worship, ecclesiology, and ethics.
